Alright now Ive been noticing alot of crap thats been comming through on the supposedly "props" and "well done" section of the forum. Now I dont really wanna see that section get stomped by the immortals so maybe we could make it like the picture forums, where all posts have to be approved by someone before they are displayed? I know its a bit of work but hell, I'll moderate it if needs be.
just an idea to keep what really was a good idea used as was first intended.
The sad truth is if the players can't moderate themselves then perhaps the Shout Out section should be stomped.
I would like to see it go, if your char can't say good job IG, theres something wrong.

How would that be fair to the IMM's? They've already heavy workloads and moderation duties, can you see how many posts regulary pass through the Shout Out section, they'd be swamped in a few days. It was the PLAYERS that begged to be allowed the freedom of this forum, they assured them they could conduct themselves in a respectable, non-flaming manner and over and over they broke their word. Posts they should know were flames they posted anyhow, disregarding rules. No. IMM's have no responsibility to moderate by approving each and every post. If it comes down to that, eliminate the forum section all together; maybe then people will realize that flame-baiting lost them a nice perk offered to them.

Forum bans are also an effective measure.
what about bans from only the shout outs. like, if you flame in the shout outs, you get 10 days forum ban, plus perma-ban from the shout outs. is it possible to ban someone from just a section?
Actually, I suppose it would be possible. Make a forum group that everyone goes in, to start with. Only people in this group can post in shout-outs. As people abuse shout-outs, remove them from the group, so they can't post in it anymore.
Simple enough, and it might actually be effective.
From what I have seen on the other sections, most people can behave. If this goes for shouts aswell, the flamers will flame themself out quite quick.
and if not, I think it would do a big defferance anyway.
I don't know anything about what you all said, I follow concept, but I have no idea what it actually takes to impliment it from the Imms end, but the general idea sounds real good
