I think that ninjas must be allowed in warmaster, compared to the thieves they are more like a fighters.
Warmaster
Race: human elf drow dwarf duergar halfling gnome avian fire stone storm minotaur slith feral werebeast half-elf ogre
Class: War Ber Ran Thi Mon Bla
Now see those classes? What do they all have in common? They dont have spells, save for blademaster but thats another story.
I don't know. Although ninjas have a good few combat skills, they still have a few spells at hand as well. Because of the small amount of spells they have, perhaps a very well played ninja with good RP would be allowed to apply for WM whilst sacrificing those spells but there are also balance issues to think about (I know little about WM so I can't comment on that).
Bottom line is, that ninjas have access to spells. Blademasters and rangers have spells too, however in my view, blademaster 'spells' I see more as states of mind or something similar that allow the blademaster to focus on combat. Ranger's spell could be an innate ability that they learn to harness thunderstorms because of their time spent outdoors, or something.
Dey
Ninja is a profession of disciplined warriors who shun the heavy
combat of warriors and their ilk, and concentrate on more exotic
stealthy ways of eliminating their prey. They specialize in use
of poisons and dusts to blind and kill their enemies, while using
their skills to strangle their enemies and further hamper and disable
them. The guild emphasizes stealth and agility, allowing their members
to move unseen, and easily vanish from combat or danger in a puff of smoke
or create deadly decoys of themselves.
So they are something like warriors of the shadows.

This is copied from the help file.
I think what UB was pointing out was the 'they shun heavy combat' part but correct me if I'm wrong. ![]()
Helpfile aside, ninjas still have spells. Like I say, if someone had some good roleplay perhaps the Imms would make special provision for that player maybe at the sacrifice of their spells, but you'd have to be something special to be considered. And, there are still the balance issues. Even if A CERTAIN RACE/CLASS HAS THE POSSIBILITY OF THE RIGHT rp FOR SOMETHING, THERE ARE STILL BALANCE ISSUES TO CONSIDER. cASE IN POINT, sTORM gIANT pALADIN OR MAYBE fIRE gIANT dARK kNIGHT. rp WISE, THEY'D BE PRIME CANDIDATES BUT i THINK THEY'D BE PRETTY MUCH OVERPOWERED.

rangers have spells, and I dont see the diffrence.
Indeed, rangers and blademasters have spells too.I don't know why ninjas cannot be inducted in warmaster as I said they are more warrior class than the thieves.

read this time.
I don't understand.
He's saying Warmaster is ABOUT heavy combat, and ninjas shun it.
There were ninjas in the original Warmasters, version 1.0... In fact, Kazimer was the first... The old warmasters never used magic, from day one... A ninja without detect invis and invis was a harsh thing, let me tell you... I think if you do not train your spells, and RP it out, it is always a possibility(ie. Expect gimpage)...
Of course, that was nigh on five years ago...
But don't monks and blademasters also shun the use of heavy armors? Additionally they can't even wear heavy eq, ninjas can.
they shun heavy armor, but not heavy combat.
Mircea(?) had a DK in warmasters.
WC
yeah, I remember that dk in wm, what a stooge.
they shun heavy armor' date=' but not heavy combat.[/quote']
So ninjas believe in soft to medium combat? lol.
So ninjas believe in soft to medium combat? lol.
heh, that was a joke right?
ninjas are pure stealth, why would they challenge you toa fight when they could more easily cut your head right off without ever being seen. Even thieves sometimes enjoy a bruhaha if they are the scrapping kind.
Was it Nerafilm I believe when I had a monk justice he had a custom title the Animal. I think it was Dervangers(sp) ninja, He hardly ever assassinated sometimes he'd strangle mostly he'd just kick the crap out of who was ever around.
