CHANGE: Leap Year Changes

Change Date: 02/29/2016

Important Change? Yes

Key Changes

  • You can now choose to become a hardcore player during creation.

This mode takes 41 lives away immediately - you start with 20 lives total.

  • You don't experience any con loss while set as a hardcore player.
  • Only IMMs and players themselves can see who is hardcore.

You will no longer void out while requesting items.

Hours played for QRACES and QCLASSES has been recoded.

  • Psionicist, Lich, and Crusader - 35 hour wait time before you can send an app.
  • Avatar, Demon, Undead, Vampire - 25 hour wait time before you can send an app.

Journal list now uses a buffer so IMMs don't get kicked from the game when used.

IMMs will now go wizinvis automatically if they idle for too long - similar to when players idle out.

Raider mobs (sent by Watcher/Syndicate, etc) will no longer use bard skills and WM skills.

Bug Fixes

  • Issue where sockets weren't being removed even when they were unique/rare, and over-count during death has been fixed. (and purge)
  • Issue where sockets weren't actually being renamed with unadorn_obj has been fixed.
  • Issue where items on the ground/in containers (not on a character or mob) weren't counted during world-shifts has been fixed.
  • Issue where during 'reboot purge' where rare-counts weren't correct, fixed.
  • Issue where counts weren't being done on socketed items when purge/quit commands were used, has been fixed.
  • Lich bug has been fixed regarding dispel magic and cancellation (and cure blindness, and any other cure where it wouldn't work).
  • Werebeast mob issue where mobs that reverted after transforming wouldn't get a short_description has been fixed.

OLC Changes

  • Minotaurs added to excluded list for wearing boots of stomping.

Making it take longer to send apps for q things? Awful change IMO...

With a tiny pbase and pinning in <20 hours a normal and easy thing this is just a really silly change.

Actually, shorter for some. The rest stayed the same.

Great changes....

Love the hardcore setting... Makes the game 3x more thrilling (by removing 60% of the lives... See what I did there?)

Is there any benefit to choosing the hardcore setting?

No benefits. The only cool thing about it, is, you don't lose con when you die. It's more for those who want shorter lived characters who NEVER really die 20 or more times, and would enjoy a bit of a challenge.
