(967/1057hp 621/721m 354/456mv)    ( 16 )

A middle-aged human male stands before you. His stature suggests he is

young, though the streaks of grey in his black hair betray the years he

has seen. His hair is carefully combed back, a sheen obvious across it's

entirety. His jaw is square, giving his face an extremely angular

appearance. Bushy brows of a lighter shade cast shadows over his rich,

green, eyes.

The robe he wears is meticulously cared for. Pressed lines from daily

laundering easily evident across it's surface. The dark blue fabric

free of stain, or deformity from neck to ankle. Several pins adorn the

right breast. Accolades obviously, though they have no definitive traits

that would hint at where they where earned.

Held in his left hand is a tattered tome. The binding frayed, though it

is still intact. The crimson tome has no text upon it; the only thing

that graces it's surface is an embossed black fist. The mail encased

fist is roughly the diameter of a man's palm.

He has just opened up his eyes to the world.

Belvicet has quite a few wounds.

A Rocky Formation

The incline of the rocks in this area are much steeper.  A lot more

energy must be expanded to traverse this stretch of land.  The rocks are not

packed very tightly together, and one slip of the foot might spell certain

death.  From the top of this formation you can see most of the wreckage.

You are leaving the beach behind you, and to the north you see a small rock

outcropping.  As you gain higher ground, the smell of salty air slowly

fades.

Belvicet goes to sleep.

You quickly cure Belvicet's poison.

Wait what? Since when did strangle CURE poison? Isn't that the only way to negate strangle in the first place?

Lotus cures poison but I thought he is death kiss path?

How is it not a bug that you could follow and spam murder? Isn't combat supposed to force an unfollow?

No, you need to type nof yourself.

And no, the strangle through poison is a death kiss specialty if I understand it right.

As embarassing a loss as this is, I am genuinely stunned that over an hour to an hour and and half you did not fail to cure poison on and single strangle, nor did you miss a single strangle. Not really sure what to do here besides not bother.

Smoldering Campsite

[Exits: north east west]

There is a fire pit here, still smoldering.

(Invisible) (Charmed) (White Aura) A mummy shambles around with its master.

(Invisible) (Charmed) (White Aura) A dirty, old skeleton stands here with its master.

(Invisible) (Charmed) (White Aura) A zombie, covered in rotted skin, stands here with its master.

(Invisible) (Charmed) (White Aura) A stone golem stands here to do his master's bidding.

(Translucent) (White Aura) Belvicet is here.

(974/1057hp 608/721m 431/456mv)   strangle b

Belvicet yells 'Help!  someone just tried to strangle me!'

You draw your weapon.

You wield Mordred's Dominferis adorned with a jade figurine.

You step out of the shadows.

You trample around loudly again.

Your strangulation misses Belvicet.

Belvicet has quite a few wounds.

I hoped someone would bring the nofollow suggestion to you. You won't lose your pets and could've easily prevented the scenario above. The second reason I posted was the 6 attempts I had to make to get the kill through wimpy. This was with haste, while auto-following when all I had to do was spam murder.

I meant failed to cure on a strangle while I was poisoned. My fault for not typing that, I thought i had.

So to be clear, the purpose of this log is to say I should have been easier to kill? That not only should I land 1 spell across a several hour engagement, I shouldn't have a chance to get away once I hit 20% hp. You don't see that as maybe problematic at all?

Waiting for the inevitable wimpy discussion to start.

I don't think wimpy did him any good in his fights against me. Not even once. Might have worked out badly for him even. Wimpy isn't that broken...Ferals are ;)

Yeah idk what this log is supposed to show, tbh. It just reinforces my beliefs every melee is a budget ninja with different skills lol.

Similarly dressed ninjas have significantly more damage output than their warrior, berserker, and ranger counterparts, *before *ninja path is considered. Or so I have discovered in the past several months. Absolutely.

Edited

I was RARELY, if EVER, outmeleed as Kalurin vs warriors/zerks. I don't think I ever fought a ranger, but I did die to an accidental Marcella/Rhextar gang and ended losing the majority of my god suit. I ended up easily outmeleeing a raged zerk in my god suit as a ninja in a cabal outfit.

Edited

Bhesark was short lived but I stood up against some of the best of them in that time. It felt too smooth, murder dirt auto pilot. Problem is if fl is supposed to have a rock paper scissors balance system, I'm wondering where they fit in there.

Ninja can hide, heal themselves quite a bit, detect hidden, have awesome melee, fired weapons and all of this before any selectable skills.  Name another class that has that wide spread of balance without downsides?

I don't think Ninja are OP.  I just think other classes have hard class counters that ninja's don't suffer from.  Which means, they can build their armor set without having to take a specific focus (race aside).

But, mainly in this log, it is feral ninja overpowering a necro in melee.  I don't see much of a problem here

Edited

This here log isn’t really the problem, but it’s symptomatic of the real one where we keep buffing things to become super things (prenerf bards, ninjas, undead -race to an extent) that have no real downside or weakness until they are called to be gutted. And we still have classes (paladin, monk, bmg appears debatable) that struggle regularly against the rest if they are even being rolled at all.

You should have a chance to get away once you hit 20% hp but it should be dependent upon your own skill not a mechanic that breaks the rules to give you 5 additional tries to do so. Strong mages in the past were sorely underpowered in pk but they also rarely died (i.e. Nebu). Eq rebalancing is fixing the pk part but they're still keeping there survivability. I hold advantages over you in the class matchup, eq, and cabal powers so the result is expected. I bet if a fire zerk bodyslam locks me regardless of all the gear and AC in the world to protect me no one would bat an eye. It would just be another unlucky lag lock.

To the others questioning ninjas strength. I purposely didn't use jutsu or fury in this log. Therefore I won the pk via third attack, special eq skill, and strangle. Pretty sure I  could've done that with any class? Bet if I had done this with a warrior, ranger, or other melee class with at least 3 attacks/fired weapons no one would bat an eye. Wonder where this bias is coming from?

Bro I've played ninjas for a decade. I of all people were happy ninjas got buffed back in the day, it is my favorite class of all time and always will be. That being said I know all paths have their strength, from the DS dirt murder autopilot mode to yours, strangle reset strat which I find very cool, and behind it is no hate man you seem to be doing well.

That being said, ninjas aren't glaring op op hit them with a nerf bat now ect. I still feel like they are overtuned, with passive dmg, Pugil Spears and swords (I love the idea though). Healing, Mal's, defenses on deck, free svs via endure -12 svs correct?

I just think if anything a tone is needed to double sheathe at least, and maybe the poison check cure against deathkiss may need a look.

I'll probably rant more later.

I think that's the point. You didn't use all your skills, and still won without breaking a sweat. Ninjas are the best melee class and have been for are while. I've played several, the eq requirements to be dangerous are much lower than other melee classes, and your margin for error is much higher. It isn't bias, I've played several ninjas, and there is a reason I do so much better with them than anything else. I haven't met you in game, so this is just a blanket statement from my ninja experiences.  This necromancer probably would have lost, but it's also pretty well documented that ninjas are perceived as having several advantages over any other melee class.
