Wouldn't it be great if you could get that special quest item back? Whether mud crashes, invokers or barbarians... somehow you lost it. With enough gold, you could go back to the original quest giver and pay to receive another.
The mob could run a check and make sure that you don't already possess the item. Should it come back negative, then it issues you another.
250k or so seems reasonable. The entire transaction should be done with motes, of course. Responses displaying their irritation wouldn't be far fetched.
I've lost quest items over the years and always wished I could get them back.
I think most of the time, depending on the quest item, you can request a replacement from the imms. Things like the sea elven ring, the dragon slayer, etc.
yeah, me too!
how would you recommend we go about getting a replacement quest item? through tell, prayer, prayer forum or OOC note?
Which ever one gets a response. I reckon. If a pray doesn't work, note it in game. Still no response and you can bring it to the prayer forum.
cool beans sweet cheeks. thank you for the info, you're a gentleman and a scholar!
How many times have I had a dragon slayer lost by random means and been told flat out, too bad so sad.
We aren't that administration. I've restored about 7 pfiles from random crashes where the player was left with a naked character against their will.
This was unheard of in previous administrations.

Forgive me Morlhach for not mentioning this redeeming fact. I was talking about "back in the day".

:woohoo:
Good step forward, policy-wise!
Being full-looted by another character is understandable if annoying... being full-looted by a crash is heartbreaking.
You may be surprised what the staff is willing to do to help someone, ESPECIALLY when asked nicely instead of demanding the wrong to be righted. I don't know of any current IMMS who are not fair and understanding.
Edit: EXCEPT that Tribunal one, what a jack@
The staff is great! I wish I had known about replacements with Arthryn haha. I always thought you were just sol if you lost something like a sea elf ring or dragon slayer.
What about that item you had made owner only from that one quest that crumbled?
