Cabal Induction Option

How about at level 30, 40, or 50 you can spend X RP points to be given a chance to apply to your chosen cabal?  It could scale down based on level.   80 60 40?

I feel like with those points it would be much faster to just get to 50. Would need to be lower by a bit.

Cabal elders and leaders will do it for free.

clan allow [character]

Some cabals don’t have elders or leaders. And some that do aren’t logging in for 10+ days at a time.

That's where notes to immortal come in.

If you want to join a cabal prior to that, your RP needs to be stellar.

What I'm proposing is something the player can control themselves without immortal intervention, other than RP points.

I understand that.  Thank you for the suggestion.

I'm not trying to derail this thread, I'm genuinely curious. Are 'wait times' getting into a cabal an issue? From my end people are getting cabaled and even promoted to Elder faster than ever.

I believe that the perception is that cabals with less active imms and members you seem to be sitting at the max wait time to even apply in the first place and then wait max time for the app to auto approve. In a situation it's also easy to potentially feel unnoticed which can be disheartening.

That said I understand the concern and see why it might be a bummer, luckily I haven't experienced this in years.

You must also take into consideration that sometimes sending a note to nudge immortals feels dirty. It almost feels like asking for a pay raise at work... it's uncomfortable even if you deserve it.

Perhaps not every time no. But it’s a problem that shouldn't have to exist at all. Does the staff not agree that systems which do not require immortal oversight are generally beneficial to the game? I enjoy both worrex and rilenna immensely. But how did worrex get elder first? It’s not about any one specific character or situation, it’s just an antiquated way of managing cabals.  What good does stopping people from auto joining or almost auto joining cabals do for the game? Call me crazy but there’s literally nothing anyone could say that would make much sense. It’s an elitist move at best and a power grab at worst.  The more a player can feel in control of their characters  destiny through automated systems the better. This sort of mindset has just always felt in contradiction with the IMP staff, no matter what iteration of that there is.  And when anyone dares say something about it, it’s a “our way or the highway” approach.  I’ve tried my best to stay at FL when there’s another mud right around the corner with 5-10x the players doing the things players actually want.  I wish FL would wake up and either close the doors or open them. I waited something like 7 days at 50 to get into savant with my first character back.  If that’s not a problem then there’s no real surprise why I’m often the only one online. Whether you want me playing or not.
