Dunno what to suggest this as but here it is. If you are a character who does not PK. Or someone who has a PK shield, you should not be in PK gear. I understand the desire for anyone to deck themselves out, but over the years I saw many royals/nobles/heralds wearing sought after PK gear.
Locked No clue what to call it
Agreed.
Then there should be equal rp gear. Considering some of the heralds might like to you know.. go out and kill some mobs...
This crops up any time Heralds are actually around, which is exceedingly rare. Heralds are generally discouraged from wearing high-end gear, however they are free to do so if they like. There are certainly eays to get around their PK immunity. If you feel like a Herald is abusing the PK shield to avoid loss of equipment post in on prayer, and it will be looked in to. However speaking personaly, i've never seen this as a real problem.
Guess it's time to start slaughtering Heralds and then listening to how trashy I am ![]()
The whole idea of PK immunity in a PK game seems silly to me.
Pk immunity was/is intended to allow for uninterrupted RP where necessary when an imm isn't around to threaten people with death. Sadly, we can't trust people to maintain decorum during RP sessions.
I am still for the idea that heralds must approve, reject descriptions.
Absolutely not....
As Volg has said, the Herald ability for uninterrupted RP is necessary at times, especially when I give assignments such as interviews or when scribing a tome (if you've never used the tome editor, you have no clue what I'm talking about here...let us simply say it is a tedious process). What a Herald wears is his or her choice. Heralds who are "decked" (I better see some equipment lists to back up these claims) and simply sit in town constantly with this will be handled by each individual case.
For example, the previous Herald leader, Airen, was allowed to wear whatever she wanted. Why? She wasn't in town most of the time and she rarely ever used her PK immunity. Mapping the lands required her to not be in the towns. If you have a desire to attack a Herald, there is naught stopping one from doing so. Just don't complain about any political fall-out that may occur from such actions.
Also, one can get around the PK immunity. It is not difficult. It is also something that comes with restrictions on how/when it can be used. It's not an automatic skill.
Im not saying that the skill should not exist. I will say that herald has been branded a non violent cabal. Even going so far as to tell members from time to time they cannot start wars, they cannot be aggressive. Now all this is fine, and dandy. The only issue is when a character in a cabal that cannot be aggressive is in gear that is catered to aggressive characters. When you have characters in pk REQUIRED cabals who are fighting over horns of Cthluhu, why is the Herald wearing Crown of Might/Helm of spell turning?
I know this sounds pretty bitchy from certain angles, espescially given my last few characters have had 0 trouble getting gear. I do notice looking around that alot of people ARE having trouble getting gear. These comments are more for their benefit. I do not want to encroach on anyone's good time here in FL, but if you want to be in PK gear, you should be able to be PKed. The herald skill that prevents PK I understand as stopping RP from being interrupted, but let us be honest, who is aggressively PKing heralds? Isn't it MORE likely that the person the herald is RPing with is the one going to be attacked, which that skill does nothing for.
No one is PK immune - ever.

There is two ways, though one way is Adventurer. The other, unless it was fixed since I used it years ago, probably still exists.
Uhm. Heralds under a certain cabal skills are PK immune.....
Uhm. Heralds under a certain cabal skills are PK immune.....
Unless it has changed, another skill from another cabal can change such a situation...
