I think there should be a command to show someones previous criminal history. Kind of a reputation command. Could see they have had x warrants for x crimes, has done a total of x hours in jail, payed x bail fees, had x items confiscated, faced judgement at his creator (executed) x times. Etc etc.
Would be interesting to see a Wanted board in random areas. Or mobs that randomly talk about chars with high marks on the wanted board.
"GUARDS! GUARDS! I think I just saw !"
Not an aggro mob like the defenders, but random citizens etc etc.
What we actually need is a fine line between ethos.
Lawful = doesn't break law
Neutral = does what he wants
Chaotic = does NOT follow law i.e. doesn't obey Tribunals
I've seen some chaotic characters who hide in cities behind tribunals when things get rough. The worst thing is that I've talked to IMMs and they've said that this is OK. How is it OK? What is the difference between being chaotic and neutral then?
As for the suggestion, I see nothing that it could change really other than offering some statistic. If thats what you wish, alright, but this is only a small cosmetic thing that changes nothing.
As for the second part of the suggestion - mobs talkinb about characters - Cel FFS re-post that gossip suggestion already! Man I hate you sometimes.
Chaotic doesn't mean that you don't understand the law and are incapable of recognizing its worth. It just means that, if you want to attack someone, you don't give a damn who sees.
Neutral characters typically wouldn't break a law if they think they're going to be caught.
Lawful characters obey the law at all times.
Every ethos can produce a character who understands the benefit to sitting behind a big fat tribunal and blowing his stronger enemy a raspberry.
I never said that chaotic characters don't understand law.
I only sad that at the moment, there is no difference between neutral and chaotic. The way it is now, we can simply scrap neutral and go with lawful and chaotic.
Chaotic does not make you some mindless animal. You gripe about someone sitting behind a Tribunal and try to use ethos to say there is no chaotic in this.
Well, if I'm chaotic and I'm driving you insane by doing this, I'm doing the right thing.
Valek, in FL ethos concerns only your view towards law.
Am I not right when I say that at the moment there is NO difference between neutral and chaotic?
PS. Sorry for hi-jacking the thread Emp

No, you are not right. Neutrals won't do it if they think they might get caught. By your logic there is no difference between a lawful and a neutral.
There are areas of grey and these come into play heavily where tactics are concerned. If every chaotic was supposed to flaunt the law without concern for their own health, then you're not avoiding death, which as you have often said, is something that should be avoided. However, they often do flaunt the law when they see it as "necessary". Neutrals usually won't, but sometimes will, it just requires greater motivation than would a neutral.
