At the very least you know they're getting harrassed. Other than that, what kind of time frame do you have in mind? One attempt and then your money back? Two weeks real life time and then money back?
Did the other person manage a bounty buyout? Maybe you need to up the ante next time.
Or you can just go and wage war on Syndicate since you don't think they're doing their job.

lol, you guys say it like you're talking about an upstanding organization. the guy you give the money too probably just sticks it in his own pocket after a certain amount of time. no way they'd come looking for you to give you your stuff back.

my bounties are usually 150 to 500 cp, I geuss I could kill syndicate people if I dont get the results I want....
Though the system should automatically refund. It did so with items, why not with currency. Instead of it vanishing into the void.

Dude, some member of Syndicate probably has your CP in a sack stuffed down the front of their pants. Reach for it.
Of course, I would recommend using between 50 and 100 CP and tossing in 50,000 gold on top. Cheaper for you and not too shabby for the Syndicate. I know I always appreciated the CP/Gold combo. 
EDIT: I say such since I died often trying to collect bounties and the two times I collected, that extra gold came in handy for getting some niceties I couldn't get with CP.
It's not like your hitman is Wal-mart and handing out receits. Just write it off.
You realize that if the head doesn't get collected and it drops off the list, YOU DO get a refund, right? I've put 300 cps down on heads before, and after a world shift a week later I was 300 cp richer. That's right, you get them back already.

I agree with Kazy boy....however like others mentioned Syndicate isnt the professional cabal Hunter use to be me. They are more like hired assasins then bounty hunter. Sigh...if only we can give syndicate something mafia to do and bring back [HUNTER] as a neutral only cabal....

Then bring it to prayer. You don't get a message or anything about it returning (though it'd be nice) it's usually done while you're logged off and there's a world shift, or while you're online and you receive it after the world shift.
