I find this comedic considering the short time I've been here and the fact that my characters are rapidly improving. Give me a few more months and your 6-10 years won't mean a whole lot. There's a big difference between skill and knowing how to find elite items, game specific rooms and being able to go around the map with your eyes closed due to years of repetition. You may have ridden this bicycle for the last decade but I'm willing to bet I'll be lapping you soon enough.
Most players success on this forum can be directly attributed to gear and healing consumables.
Alot of this post seems like a potshot, so lets iron out a few things.
#1: It is not about gear, and healing consumables have an effect, but are not the end of days.
#2: Skill and time here have very little correlation. It is player potential we are talking about. I could learn at a music school for a decade, I wont ever be beethoven.
#3: There is a razor thin line between confident, and cocky ![]()
#4: You will find that going from new to average to good takes infinitely less than going from good to elite. Everyone one of us 8+ year players have had nuclear warheads for characters, we have also all had terrible fails. It is the nature of the beast. Don't think cause you did good with X combo that means your a badass here lol. I can do very very well with invokers, but as a bmg a newbie gnome warrior could probably kill me pretty easily. It is up, and down.
#5: Maturity is also a large large part of "hanging with the big boys". I am not saying your not mature Sandbox, but you suffer from TDPS like some of US (thanks mya). Keep in mind I still fall victim to "char rage" myself.
I would all in all suggest playing FL for your enjoyment. If your playing just to be able to beat some good people I would suggest going out and buying Halo reach, or Black Ops. Your time here, you should be Sadrael, the Sigil. Or Emertis, the outcast minotaur. Not "Pk machine 1" or "Corpse maker 2000". I just firmly believe alot of FL is lost with the PK focus. I am doing my best to push more into RP, while still maintaining PK levels. PK gets old man, and you can accomplish so much more with RP.
