JEWELCRAFTING

Jewelers take the rough stones that come out of gem deposits and cut them
into gems. A stone comes out chipped, cut, or flawless.

Cutting a stone is not the end of the work, because a gem does nothing at all
until it has been imbued, and you only get one attempt at imbuing each one.

Jewelers also cut the sockets that gems sit in, and grind stones down into
the dust that enchanters need.
