Website update.

I don't know...maybe some kind of update should be done on the site so potential players don't get turned off by the fact that the last "news" or whatever is from half a year ago... and then be all like "whatever." and then leave.

Hopefully our great Staff of IMMS already have that planned. If they don't well its a good idea.

I believe Chayesh is already working on it.

Awesome thank you for the update.

Allow me to beat WC to the forum scrounging:

mutters something evil about Flash and HTML

mutters something about php-nuke and dynamic websites needing little administration once in place.

Anyone remember the flash animation for fl in 1.0, showing all the cabals in cool flash animation style? Man I loved that thing.

Thanks but no thanks. I don't think Lunicant wants a leaky sieve on his server.

Php-nuke sucks.

There are, however, some very nice ones.

e107 is pretty cool and there is this new one called Mkportal(which intergrated with vbulletin) which is pretty nice.

I don't really know what all that means, but I hear geocities offers a pretty good free package?

Don't make me kick your ***, Deykari. hehe

Geocities give you like...50mb of space...no mysql or php...(which means no forum) and they give you virtually no bandwith with a huge ad at the top.

If you HAVE to have free hosting, check out Bizhat, no ads!

But, free hosting sucks.

What he is talking about is called a CMS(content management System) its like a website built like a forum, entirely customizable with absolutely no coding/scripting/html/php. You can add blocks such as games, members list, login boxes, forums, chat, blogs, wiki or many, many other things depending on the type.

Php-Nuke, however, is one of the worst ones when it comes to random leaks in both resources and security. There are, however, hundreds of different kinds such as Joomla, Mambo, Drupal, Geeklog, Xoops, tiki wiki, and my favorite...e107. Also a new comer to the game called mkportal looks like it has alot of potential.

Edit: Pretty soon, CMSs will be a majority amongst websites. They're getting that good. Very, very customizable. There can be two installs that hardly resemble each other, along with loads of features...and it takes moments to setup.

Also, the primary reason anyone would go with geocities is hosting, which we already have for free.

I make about three thousand ridiculously unfunny comments on this forum per day, and just as I post something that might have had the potential to just garner even the slightest of chuckles, people think I'm being serious.

The smily is necessary for online joking.

The smily is necessary for online joking.

Jokes can be much funnier when they're sarcastic, but without actually sounding sarcastic.

In this case though, evidently not...

whats so funny?

never really had a problem with nuke, and i just like how little you need to do with it. sure its lazy, but eh.

mkportal is nice, just a bit more.... well... more.

i just assumed ease, and less necessary time to set up and maintain was crucial.

Loved it Dey.

Was that an example of being sarcastic without letting it show? If it was, I'll just PK & loot you.
