Easiest way to find the good rares is to make a Healer and go about identifying everything. Copy/paste the IDs in a notepad file and save them somewhere that you can find easily and then in the future you'll be able to know exactly what you'll need for a certain race/class combo. Make sure to write exactly where the object can be found (area/mob) and that way down the line you can see how much some objects have changed as to how they are now as well as help yourself be better suited whether it be in PK or just the way you want your character to look.
Worn rare limitations.
I used to go explore and do that with all the items I came across. Then write down where I found em and how good they were.
My first list contained such wonderfull things as:
flaming red capes
- everything else from elemental canyon.
That about it.
I wish I had done that since the beginning. The prospect of identifying everything you come accross in the lands is hellish, but he amount of times a need to id the same ol' pieces over and and over is stupid. If you are a new player just copy and paste everything you id somewhere, it's worth having the list.

Yes, it would, not to mention the fact that some items' attributes have changed over the years. Sometimes in great groups, and sometimes singly or in bunches. I have done this for a long time, and there are items that are drastically different than they were, say, 4 years ago.
Oh, and if you are a character with lore, that will tell you where it is found. Add that to your note pad file.
