Fall of the Ancient Pantheon

500 to 505 PC

Luqin, the God of Compassion, and the Wraith Queen Malynne fought a war that ended both of them as they were. Malynne had once been a strong believer in Luqin's teachings, but she rose to her own godly status and cast down her shawl of peace. When they finally met on the battlefield, the fight shook Aabahran. Malynne tore Luqin's spirit from his body. His shade wandered for a long time before his followers could restore him.

Luqin returned with strength and rage. He obtained the Calineux Sphere, a relic of terrible power that would grant the bearer's deepest wish in exchange for their life. He confronted Malynne in Val Miran. The fight was savage. Malynne tore him apart. She declared she would make him her slave. But Luqin was not finished. From his ruined body, black tentacles erupted and drained the energies from Malynne. He rose and obliterated her form, his mind descending into the beast she had made him. Standing in the square, dripping with blood, he spoke a single phrase: "I dub myself Suibremoront. Supreme Demon."

Suibremoront attempted to open a demonic portal above Val Miran. Gael aided the assault. Irumeru, a lesser God of Light, used an ancient relic to fight back. The magic used in Suibremoront's spell lashed out and killed the entire Ancient Pantheon, save Irumeru. Every god that had watched over Aabahran since the beginning was gone.

In 505 PC, three new gods entered through the weakening barriers of reality. Chayesh, Malchaeius, and Caimor brought balance back to a world on the edge of destruction. Several gods were born in the wake of the New Pantheon, including Eshaine and Anithraril. The Cabals regrouped. Chaos formed the Nexus. Crime returned as the Syndicate. The rebel Watchers appeared. Knights, Warmasters, and Savants rebuilt their ranks. Civilization began again.
